Scuba diving in Dwarka: DIVEIndia – DWARKA

Welcome to our dive base in Dwarka!

A popular tourist destination, Dwarka is not normally associated with diving – however, with respectable visibility, good fish life and the promise of whale sharks and sunken cities further out and awaiting discovery, we are very excited about the potential of this as a destination.

The Diving

At present, we are focused mainly on entry-level diving programs and training courses and offer the following programs:

PADI Discover Scuba Diving (half day)

This is a half-day program for beginners, and consists of a guided dive on a reef with an instructor.

Your day begins with a short theory briefing, and is followed by some shallow water training in a swimming pool with scuba equipment, as well as a chance to practice/swim with the gear. After this, you will be transported by vehicle to our dive site, where you, along with an instructor on a 1:1 ratio, will go for a dive on a reef, and explore the unique marine life of the region.

You have 3 options for this program:
– The Full Program consists of 60 minutes of water time (pool and ocean combined), subject to safety, diver comfort and air consumption. This is the richest program in terms of experiencing the magic of scuba to the fullest.
– The Short Program is the same as the full program but limited to 35 minutes of water time (pool and ocean combined). This is suitable for people who just want to get a taste of diving.
– The Pool Program is just an intro to scuba, but conducted in a pool. No fish, but you get a taste of diving and the magic of being weightless in the water. Great for people who are short on time.

This is not a training course, but an experience program. No swimming skills are required, but candidates do have to complete a short medical, to ensure they are fit for diving. A Certificate of Completion and photos of your dive are included.

Do note that this program is conducted as per the standards of PADI, the world’s largest diver training agency, and is not to be confused with the various low-priced programs conducted in many places which do not meet any international standards for training or safety.

Price:
Full program: Rs 4,500 + 18% GST
Short program: Rs 3,500 + 18% GST
Pool program: Rs 2,000 + 18% GST

The Scuba Diver course is a 2-day certification course, conducted as per the international standards laid down by PADI, the world’s largest diver training agency.    This certifies divers to dive to depths of 12m with professional supervision.

The program consists of 3 components:

  • Confined Water training: This is half a day (usually) of skills training, where you learn more about dive equipment as well as master the various skills needed to dive safely.
  • 2 Open Water dives: these are ocean dives, conducted on the reef, where you practice the skills you have learned in confined water and also get to experience and enjoy the magic of the underworld world.

The entire program takes 2 days, and is scheduled as follows:
– Day 1: theory and confined water
– Day 2: 2 open water dives

Basic swimming skills (ability to float/tread water for 10 minutes) are required for this program, and divers also need to review a medical form and get a doctor’s clearance if relevant.

Scuba Refresher (1 day) / Buoyancy Bootcamp (1-2 days)

Are you already a certified diver, and planning a dive holiday somewhere?     Or do you want to work on your dive skills, such as reducing your air consumption or improving your buoyancy?

If so, why travel all the way to a remote location and then waste diving days doing skills training in a pool or confined water?   Instead, come down to Dwarka and our team of experienced dive professionals will work with you to improve your dive skills, freeing you to focus on your diving while on holiday.

For beginners, this consists of a one-day Scuba Refresher program, where you will do a thorough review of your open water skills in a pool, followed by 1 dive on a reef.  This is also a great opportunity to correct any bad habits that might have crept up during your initial training.

For more experienced divers, we offer the same Buoyancy Bootcamp as in the Andamans –  a more detailed, customized program that refines your weighting, air consumption, trim and gear choices.   This program can take 1 or 2 days, depending on your current skill level and targets.   Each day consists of a confined water session, followed by a dive.

Price:   Rs 5,000 + 18% GST per day

We are also be expanding operations to offer more programs for experienced divers. So if you don’t see what you are looking for and want to explore Scuba diving in Dwarka, please contact us.
