Deco Diving 101
Picture this: You’re around 40 metres, watching your computer count down to a stop that wasn’t a mishap. You planned it, and you are prepared for it. That’s the shift the SSI Decompression Diving program gears you for – to stop reacting to the dive, to be in control of it.
Over the course, you will go through dry runs, academic sessions, and confined water sessions, where you get used to the stage tank, learn how to switch them, and the safety procedures involved. Early dives simulate decompression, easing you in. Your graduation dives are where you experience real staged decompression, up to 15 mins, on a 40% nitrox blend.
Your gear may not change much – same cylinder(s), same setup, maybe a different BCD. What definitely changes is what you’re capable of doing with it.

Deco Diving 101
Prerequisites:
- Finishing reading your course material is mandatory BEFORE you arrive
- You should also have the following SSI certifications or equivalent from any recognized training agency.
- Deep Diving
- Enriched Air Nitrox 40
- Sidemount Diving, if using a Sidemount Configuration
- You should have logged a minimum of 24 dives.
Medical Form:
Before you dive, you’ll need to fill out a medical questionnaire. It is a self-check of your eligibility to dive.
If you do need a doctor’s clearance, we will guide you through it! Download the form now.
Age Limitations:
- The minimum age to access the trailer for technical diving is 16 years.

- We’ve got the essentials covered – study material, instructor charges, gear, training dives, certification, snacks & beverages on all dive days, and taxes.
- Travel, meals, & stay are additional expenses.

How much time do I spend on this per day?
- Plan to spend a major part of the day with us & the Ocean
- There will be debriefing / theory sessions as well. Scheduled per mutual convenience of the student & the Instructor.
What is the Student-to-Instructor ratio for the course?
- 4:1. 4 students. 1 instructor.
- That means more attention, tips for faultless trim, and plenty of time for feedback where it matters most.
Where do I access my course material?
