UNDERWATER REUNION? LET'S PREP FOR IT!
Diving is like driving. The more you do it, the better you get. And if you haven’t done it in a while, let’s revive that muscle memory and reconnect with those core Ocean skills!
Back to Basics
A break from diving can show up in little ways – uneven buoyancy, high air consumption, or just a lack of ease underwater. The SSI Scuba Skills Update helps refresh your fundamentals and rebuild confidence in a confined water session.
You will revisit key skills like equipment setup, neutral buoyancy, regulatory recovery, and essential safety procedures – all leading up to a shallow check dive. The focus is on easing back into the water safely, instead of rushing to jump right in. With your Instructor by your side, you’ll regain control and return to diving with more awareness and the same awe that made you fall in love with the Ocean.

I have 100+ logged dives. Do I really need to do this program?
- Well, it depends. Have you been away for diving for a long while?
- If the answer is yes, then you should sign up for SSU.
- However, this is better dealt with on a case-to-case basis. Talk to us, and we’ll figure it out together.
Which island is better for diving? Havelock or Neil?
- Honestly, we have never been able to pick a favourite, because both are breathtakingly beautiful!
- In terms of marine life, every site in the Andaman Sea is full of rewarding surprises!
- As far as land life goes, Havelock is the extroverted sibling; it is bigger and busier. Neil is the introverted one; she is quiet in her demeanour but hides some mesmerising secrets.
What is the water temperature in the Andamans? Will I need a wetsuit?
- Water temperatures average between 27-29°C all year round.
- Most divers like to flex their cool rashguards & funky board-shorts here. If you do prefer a wetsuit or don’t like chilly thermoclines, we’re happy to provide one that fits.
- P.S.: In wetsuits, we have shorties. In case you prefer full ones, check with our Reservations Team for availability.
What happens if the weather is bad on my scheduled dive days?
- Safety first, bubbles later! If the conditions aren’t ideal, we’ll reschedule and find a better window.
- And trust us, diving in the Andaman Sea is worth the wait.
- Also, weather-related dive cancellations are never charge.
What if I have to cancel my trip? Do I get any refund?
- Here are the not-so-fun details:
- Cancel one month prior, and you get a full refund.
- Two weeks prior? 50% refund.
- Less than a week? No refund, unfortunately.
- That said, life loves plot twists and we get it! Talk to us and we’ll figure the best possible solution.
