Things get lost underwater more often than they should. Finding them is not about luck though; it’s about having a plan. The SSI Search and Recovery Specialty equips you with the knowledge and skills required to attempt exactly that, and do it well. 

From selecting the right search pattern to using specialised equipment – you’ll learn how to work with reels, ropes, and lift bags to execute a search efficiently, being neutrally buoyant throughout while ensuring clear communication with your buddy. Quite the task-loaded dives, and that’s why we say, ‘Plan the dive. Dive the plan.’

This is where you transition from guesswork to structure. With the right plan, running around in circles actually turns a wide, uncertain space into a mapped, search area.

Day 0
Orientation + Planning your DIVEDays
If you’ve dived with us before, welcome back!
Day 1
Learn the skills & procedures in shallow waters by the shore. 
Day 2
You’ll practice search patterns and get familiar with the recovery equipment over 2 dives.

Prerequisites:

  • Finishing reading your course material is mandatory BEFORE you arrive.
  • You should also be a certified SSI Open Water Diver or equivalent from any recognized training agency.

Medical Form:

Before you dive, you’ll need to fill out a medical questionnaire. It is a self-check of your eligibility to dive.

If you do need a doctor’s clearance, we will guide you through it! Download the form now.

Age Limitations:

  • The minimum age to moon as an underwater detective is 12 Years. You’ll be certified as an SSI Search & Recovery Diver

Price:

  • ₹25,000 per person, all inclusive

  • We’ve got the essentials covered – study material, instructor charges, gear, training dives, certification, snacks & beverages on all dive days, and taxes. 
  • Travel, meals, & stay are additional expenses.

  • Plan to spend the first half of the day with us & the Ocean
  • There will be debriefing / theory sessions as well. Scheduled per mutual convenience of the student & the Instructor.
  • 4:1. 4 students. 1 instructor.
  • That means more attention, fewer flailing fins, and plenty of time for feedback where it matters most.
  • But that doesn’t mean we won’t do the course with fewer students. We do. There is always a batch finning!
  • On the SSI App – your forever dive buddy. Available on Android & iOS. Phones & tablets. Or even a good ol’ browser.
  • Theory, logs, certifications cards…this is your diver flex app, essentially!
  • Yep! Once OWD certified, cameras are allowed on fun dives and most courses (we’ll let your Instructor take the call).
  • Do we recommend it for this particular course? No. It’s quite hands-on, and you most likely won’t get a chance to go click-click-shoot.
  • And if you are really into underwater photography, the Photo & Video Specialty + You are a match made in heaven the Ocean!
  • Here are the not-so-fun details:
    • Cancel one month prior, and you get a full refund.
    • Two weeks prior? 50% refund.
    • Less than a week? No refund, unfortunately.
  • That said, life loves plot twists, and we get it! Talk to us, and we’ll figure the best possible solution.

All year round, dictated only by the Ocean’s moods (a.k.a. winds, tides & currents).

How do I evolve as a diver?

We suggest the SSI Stress & Rescue course; it changes how you think, plan, and act on every dive after.

Can diving become a career option?

Careful. That’s how “just one course” quietly turns into a Divemaster internship.
