FAQs

I don’t know how to swim. Can I still dive?
  • Yes, of course! If you are curious about the Ocean and comfortable enough to dip your fins, you are good to try our Intro to Scuba Program.
  • Additionally, you will be guided by an Instructor throughout. Many first-timers start exactly this way!Knowing how to swim will become necessary if you are planning to upgrade to being a Certified Diver.
  • Honestly, we have never been able to pick a favourite, because both are breathtakingly beautiful!
  • In terms of marine life, every site in the Andaman Sea is full of rewarding surprises!
  • As far as land life goes, Havelock is the extroverted sibling; it is bigger and busier. Neil is the introverted one; she is quiet in her demeanour but hides some mesmerising secrets.
  • All year round, dictated only by the Ocean’s moods (a.k.a. tides & currents).
  • Conditions vary day to day – a surgy site in the morning may turn perfectly calm by the afternoon.
  • Our team monitors the conditions daily and each day’s dive plan gets finalised only on the previous evening.
  • Rest assured, no matter the time of the year, every dive in the Andamans is a treat!
  • Bring the basics: a quick-dry towel, sun-protective clothing, sunglasses, and a reusable water bottle.
  • Missed the basics? We have a DIVEShop – our retail store – which takes care of most diving essentials
  • As for sunscreen, use reef-safe ones, BUT they aren’t exactly diver-friendly. Ask a diver friend why. Or, us 🙂
  • No, it’s not a prerequisite.
  • Freediving and scuba are two different disciplines and don’t depend on each other.
  • Think of it as a different way of being underwater: quieter, slower, and refreshingly gear-light.
  • As young as 10 years old!
  • There is no upper age limit. As long as you are in reasonable health and are curious enough to dip your toes, you are never too old to start!
  • Absolutely! Make sure to carry it all to the centre when you first arrive. Our team will help pack it up in a kit bag for you.
  • In case you forgot to pack anything, fret not! Our gear armoury – in the dive centre and the retail store – is stocked with everything you need.
  • Two to three dives a day is the sweet spot – enough to explore without tiring yourself out for the next day.
  • Multiple dives a day are perfectly safe, when done with proper surface intervals and safety procedures – your body needs time to off-gas between dives.
  • Leave the planning to us. All you have to do is make the most of your time on the islands!
  • If you wear glasses, we have masks with prescription lenses.
  • And if contacts are your preference, that’s ok too. You just have to get used to it – be careful when entering the water and while clearing your mask.
  • Before you dive, you’ll need to fill out a medical questionnaire. It is a self-check of your eligibility to dive. Some medical conditions require a doctor’s clearance though.
  • We work closely with two doctors, who are certified rescue divers and well-versed with dive medicine.
  • If you do need a doctor’s clearance, we will guide you through it!
