SIDEMOUNT, EXTENDED
FOR RANGE
More gas. More failure-proof. And a profile trimmable enough for the tightest restrictions. Some dives demand a setup that simply adapts – and this is where you configure it.
SIDEMOUNT, EXTENDED
FOR RANGE
More gas. More failure-proof. And a profile trimmable enough for the tightest restrictions. Some dives demand a setup that simply adapts – and this is where you configure it.
The XR Setup
There’s a certain kind of dive that stays on the wishlist for too long. The overhead environment that needs a slimmer profile to navigate. The long decompression dive that demands more gas than two tanks can carry. The configuration that adapts when something fails unexpectedly. The SSI Extended Range Sidemount program turns that wishlist into a dive plan.
Over 4 days of structured training that includes confined water sessions, 4 open water dives, some workshops and many video debriefs, you’ll learn to build the configuration and confidence for dives that demand more. Every session is curated thoughtfully to help you adjust to a whole new dimension of diving,
This is where your wishlist gets shorter… and the Ocean becomes a tad bit more accessible.

Do I need to do the SSI Recreational Sidemount course to qualify for this one?
- No. You can do the SSI Extended Range Sidemount course directly.
- This program covers everything from ground up – from cylinder configuration to managing multiple stages.
- However, if you’ve already done the Recreational Sidemount course, the Extended Range Sidemount is a natural step up.
- How to upgrade? Talk to us and we’ll plan it out.
How much time do I spend on this per day?
- Plan to spend a major part of the day with us & the Ocean
- There will be debriefing / theory sessions as well. Scheduled per mutual convenience of the student & the Instructor.
What is the Student-to-Instructor ratio for the course?
- 2:1. 2 students. 1 instructor.
- That means more attention, tips for faultless trim, and plenty of time for feedback where it matters most.
Where do I access my course material?
- On the SSI App – your forever dive buddy. Available on Android & iOS. Phones & tablets. Or even a good ol’ browser.
- Theory, logs, certifications cards…this is your diver flex app, essentially!
