Aka – Let us make you an offer you cannot refuse

As many of our repeat customers know, we have always had an informal “returning customer” discount to thank our repeat offenders for their patronage and support.      We have decided to formalize that program and also improve it.

So without further ado, we present the DIVEIndia “Friends and Family” program.  Here is how it works:

  • Please drop us an email or click on the form below to sign up for the program. We will assign you a code.
  • Please use that code when making any further bookings or purchases – be it a diving program, or gear purchase – and get points for these
  • You also get points for referrals – please ask your friends to provide your code when booking: this will get them a discount on the booking price and also get you points as a ‘thank you’ from us
  • Those points can be redeemed against additional booking/stays or to buy equipment or even to get gift coupons for friends
  • To get credit for spend or to use those points, just drop an email to sales@diveindia.com. Easy as that.

PROGRAM DETAILS

The following are the details of how the program works.    Please do read this in its entirety.

EARNING POINTS

You earn points every time you do a diving program with us, or buy equipment from us, or refer another diver to us.     When making the booking inquiry, please mention that you are a member of the F&F program, and we will provide the rates and point credits accordingly.  At the end of your trip or purchase, drop us an email with your bill total, mention your registered email ID or phone number, and we will credit the points to your account.   As easy as that.

Point accumulation is as follows:

Referrals to the Andamans

 

5 point for every Rs 100 spent by the referral guests

 

In addition, referred divers also get a discount on their stay+diving
Referral to @Home center 3 points for every Rs 100 spent by the referral guests

 

In addition, the referred divers will also get a discount on their diving (to set expectations, it will not be a huge discount – our margins in our urban centers do not allow for that – but it will be the best we can do)

 

Equipment purchase 2 points for every Rs 100 spent on gear purchase

 

In order to be competitive with global prices, we work on very low margins (single digits), which limits what we can do in terms of points.

Note:

• Points are accrued on actual rupee spending, not the total bill
• Points are not accrued on cancellation fees, change fees or other booking/transactional charges
• To get your points credited, please drop an email to sales@diveindia.com after your trip is over, and let us know your Diver ID, and we will calculate and add the points

REDEEMING POINTS

To convert your points when making a dive booking, please mention your registered email ID/phone number, and we will look up your points and credit it against your bill accordingly.     Points can only be used for final payments, not for deposits.

100 points = Rs 50 Max 20% of the program fees can be paid for using points
Transfer of points to friends – applicable for  Andaman trips only

Can be transferred to a friend to use to settle their bill in the Andamans (diving and stay only).

Max 50% of the total diving+stay bill can be paid for by points

Friends availing this use of points cannot combine it with a referral discount; however, you will get the referral points as mentioned in the Earning Points section above

Equipment purchase Mostly not redeemable

100 points = Rs 50 in some cases

Redemption of points on gear will be on a case-by-case basis and may have a max limit, as some of the products we sell have very limited margins.

It is safer to plan on not being able to use it – anything is a pleasant bonus

DIVEIndia Outbound Trips n/a At present, we don’t have an option to use points for Outbound trips, but we are working on it

 

NOTE

  • Each diver’s points can only be used towards their bill – multiple diver’s points cannot be combined towards a single bill, nor can a single diver’s points be used towards paying the bills of other divers
  • Divers can, however, transfer their points to someone else – that would then allow the other person to use the points towards their bill (as mentioned in the Points Transfer above)
  • Some blackout periods may apply for redeeming points – typically, the few days around peak holiday season.   You can still use the points at this time, but there may be a lower cap on what percent of your bill can be paid via points
  • Please message us first before finalizing any plans involving redeeming points. As the system is entirely manual and dependent on Vinnie (god help us all!), there may be teething issues.

THE FINE PRINT

We dont have a lot of fine print, but what little we have is as follows:

  • We are launching this program to provide value to our guests as a “thank you” for their support – however, please consider it be an optional extra from our side, and not a contract for service. In other words, we reserve the right to cancel this at any time with no further obligations from our side
  • Unused points have no monetary value and cannot be redeemed for cash
  • We genuinely want to offer value to our guests as a “thank you”, but this is still new for us, and we expect there to be a learning curve. So we reserve the right to change the program without notice, if need be.
  • Please check the website (ie, this page) for the most recent T&Cs as well point accrual/conversion rules – the rules published on the website at the time of conversion shall apply.
  • As of now, points, etc will be managed manually, so we won’t have fancy online portals for self-service – you can email sales@diveindia.com for any question you have on the program. Also, please check with us first before redeeming points, to make sure that there are no misunderstandings (we are hoping to automate this at some point in the future)
  • Because some packages – especially those that we offer to our returning customers – have very heavy discounts built into them, we may have limitations on how points are accrued or applied on them. As such, please inform us at the time of the booking if you intend to use points. That way, we can let you know up-front if there are any issues or limits
  • If you inform us later, we will do our best to accommodate the use of points – but be aware of the earlier statement about some limits and constraints: if you are midway through your booking and you find out that there are some constraints/limits on points redemption, there is nothing we can do about it.
  • As with everything we do, we believe in fairness – both for our guests and for us. We aren’t perfect and we do make mistakes – but one thing we promise is that we work on a best-effort basis to correct our mistakes.
  • We are in the customer satisfaction business, not the legal business. We want to work to find a reasonable solution – but if people are going to adhere to the letter of the law as opposed to the spirit, so we will we. We would prefer not to, however (fine print is for weenies).
