This was the place where we got initiated into diving..and hooked for life! These guys are thorough professionals and totally passionate about their job. The Dive India resort is nice. Simple, clean, has a lovely cafe where you get awesome food! The two golden retrievers found lolling around are very friendly …just like the people there!! ?
Feed the dogs please…despite all feigned annoyance of the owner!!

It’s a great place to go..They are THE best to dive with in Havelock !!

Scuba diving with Dive India at Havelock was the best part of our trip to Andamans. The instructors were excellent and the entire diving experience was awesome. Something that should be on everyone’s bucket list.

I did my SSI Open Water Course here, and am very glad of my choice to go with Dive India. I mainly chose them due to them being the most experienced dive centre on Havelock, and because of reviews on here.

The quality of the dive instructor team has already been discussed on here – my addition is to say that as someone who went as a total beginner, I felt completely safe, and confident in the teams ability to teach effectively. They always had some feedback after each dive, and it was delivered in a relaxed, constructive fashion.

Diving itself was amazing, Dive India clearly know their waters (indeed they found some of the dive sites) and, tbh, I was under the impression that there weren’t that many fish in the water nowadays…..just not true, as you will find out when you lie on your back in the water, watching the sun cutting through the waves and illuminating shoals and shoals of fish. The team will happily tell you about the fish, and many seem as knowledgeable about marine life as they do about diving.

Dive India is linked with Island Vinnie’s resort (most people staying at Vinnie’s are divers, so there is a nice sense of community) Full Moon Café, which all seem to be separate businesses (not sure about Dive India and Island Vinnie’s), but are inextricably linked for providing a complete service. In my opinion, they all worked well together and provided a great holiday.

It is clearly the passion of the team here to share diving with the world, and I was amazed to see this delivered with a level of professionalism that does not usually leave room for people to be chilled out or relaxed – thankfully, not the case here. I would happily recommend this place to anyone, and hope to find myself here again one day.

I did my SSI open water course with DiveIndia, and I can’t recommend it enough. I stayed with them for around a week.

– The initial communication via mails with Rahul and the booking part was smooth, a tad slow, but after I visited the island and saw the internet, I don’t blame them.

– For my first there nights I had the upgraded huts, they’re decent; it’s got all you need. Though if you get the ones near the road, it can get noisy. The bathroom was clean.

– Full moon cafe is amazing – I can’t point out a single dish that didn’t surprise me. I personally recommend the bhindi masala ?

– Finally, the diving – it was brilliant !!!! Just thinking about it makes me want to go back. On my first day, Vikas taught me. He was extremely patient and gave me a lot of confidence. He has extensive diving experience and it shows in the way he teaches. The next couple of days I did my dives with Neity, I was happy to see women instructors actually. Diving with her was nice.

– The underwater life is quite nice, though I guess when you do your advanced course, the dive sites are better. We saw sting rays, eels, mantis shrimps, octopus, the banded sea krait, star fish, lion fish and loads of other beautiful creatures.

– The equipment was in good shape, the staff help you with pretty much everything. The samosas and tea on the boat were a good relief from the hunger and cold !

I have to mention that while on the island, I had a scooter accident. (because of which I had to cut my stay short) And the instructors, even the ones that didn’t teach me were so helpful. I was actually surprised at the warmth I received. If you choose to do some diving in India, DiveIndia is a great option !

Tips: Ask for WIFI at the reception, be careful while riding around – the roads are narrow, I suggest take the greet and meet option – this way the logistics is taken care from airport pickup to drop, ferry transfers and other minor transfers, carry a lot of sunscreen, even a mosquito repellent, do take photos underwater as a memory, borrow a gopro if you want.

DIVEIndia is the oldest dive center in the Andamans, and was founded by Vandit Kalia, aka Vinnie. A former management consulting drone, a very early midlife crisis (at the ripe old age of 28) made him take a year off as a sabbatical. He spent 6 months out of that year in Havelock, back in 2000 before returning to the corporate world. However, he was unable to resist the call of the islands and decided to walk away from the rat race to start DIVEIndia in the Andamans in December 2003.

Today, we have come a long way from those early days (when a fancy boat was a dunghie with a cover, the fast boat from Port Blair to Havelock took 4 hours and connecting to the internet meant plugging a laptop into the phone cable at a public call booth) – with fleet of customized dive boats, 14-15 dive professionals covering 2 islands, Havelock and Neil and customers from all over the world. The Best place for scuba diving in Andaman. However, a few things haven’t changed. We feel diving should be fun, safe and accessible. Everything we do is based on this. That’s why we’ve never adopted a premium pricing strategy, despite offering premium extras like small groups, unlimited shallow water training if needed, highly experienced guides, etc. And our primary goal is, as always, to make sure our guests have a great time here. We are not a big corporation, we don’t have a fancy PR machine, we dont offer everything under the sun – we focus on one thing only, and we like to think we do it better than anyone else.

I was very sceptical about my scuba course, as I was always scared of water. One of the reasons I wanted to learn SCUBA was to get rid of that fear. While doing my Open water SSI certification, at no point did I feel that fear, and at one point I realised, my fear was gone!
They have the best instructors, the most experienced and helpful divemasters, and to top it all, an excellent resort nestled in a pristine beach in Havelock. The instructors there have all left high paying jobs to be there, which shows only one thing – passion for diving.
Whether you are looking at a certification, specialisations, or simply want to dive for a few days, just close your eyes and book with them. You will not be disappointed.

We had a great time with Dive India. We booked it over email which was really easy because they got back to our questions very quickly. When we arrived all the staff were so helpful and friendly. We did our advanced Padi course with Sahill and he was awesome. Very professional and knowledgable. I am not a confident diver and the conditions were not great on our first dive and he handled it well which made me feel safe. Thanks Sahill and Dive India for a fantastic time.

Amazing Scuba Experience5 of 5 starsReviewed April 14, 2016

I went for starter’s course as this was my first scuba experience. I was allotted an individual instructor who took me into the water and showed me corals and water life. It was an amazing experience, and the diver made my experience happier. The staff are very helpful and they guided me with the advanced courses and also the photographic materials. We got good photos and videos, definitely must-do activity. You don’t need to know swimming if you go with the instructor and it’s VERY GOOD and must-do if you are SCARED of water ?

We stayed on Havelock for 6 days in April ’16 and had an amazing time. I completed a PADI Open Water and Advanced Open water course there, diving every day. The level of instruction is superb- they know the reefs inside out and are very passionate about what they do. Only (minor) criticism is that their equipment- fins and BCDs in particular look pretty shabby but gear on all 9 of my dives worked perfectly.

I spent six weeks on Havelock Island with Dive India, going from complete novice to 50 dives, undertaking my open water, advanced, several specialty courses and Rescue Diver in the process. I think I can say that I got a good overall view of their operations.

Without exception, I found the dive staff to be friendly and professional. Doing so many dives, I was guided or instructed by almost every staff member at least once, and I can honestly say that I learnt something from everyone there.

Some of the shallower dive sites are less interesting if you’ve already dived a lot, and I can understand why experienced divers going there might be disappointed by them, as has been mentioned in previous reviews. For my part, I needed to be in shallow waters initially to learn the basics, and even once I was a bit further advanced, I relished using the shallower sites to focus more on trying to perfect technical things like buoyancy and breathing.

The deeper dive sites took longer to get to, but were breathtakingly good (and people with far more experience than me were similarly awestruck). I saw dolphins underwater, big schools of barracuda, shark, etc.

I stayed in the standard huts, the most basic and cheap option. This consisted of a bed and a ceiling fan, and the use of a shared bathroom block. It met my needs perfectly. Others who favour slightly more luxurious surroundings might not agree, but I was there primarily to dive and to be outside, and the hut was literally just for sleeping in.

The Full Moon Cafe’s food was absolutely delicious. I had the chance to sample quite a bit of the menu in my six weeks on Havelock, and it was all great. What some of the staff there lacked in English language ability, they more than made up for with a cheerful and friendly disposition.

In summary, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Dive India package, and for novices like I was in particular. When I was struggling with certain aspects, I received highly personalised and tailored training dives, which helped me enormously in gaining confidence.

I visited DiveIndia last week and had an incredible time. The diving was tons of fun and very safely done. The instructors ensured that we were all comfortable in the water and that we could see as much as possible. The accommodation was great, very neat and clean. The food was exquisite, as seen by the fact that it was nearly always fun. I’m already planning my trip back!

Had a good time at this dive resort. Instructors friendly and helpful. Excellent and safe instruction. Also they don’t just pass anyone and people in my group did an extra day or two to get up to speed on swimming skills. This I found very reassuring because scuba diving can be a dangerous sport if not done properly. Cafe does meat so I didn’t eat there but a good veg place across the road but does good drinks! Try the pomegranate juice!

One minor point is that some of the rooms have a lot of bugs! Ants, mosquitoes I had a small spider in my bed one night! etc. Accommodation could do with an upgrade and when this is done this will be a first class resort. I did flag this with management and hopefully they will improve upon this for your stay.

I went to Dive India as my friends had done the Basic Open Water course with them earlier. This place got me interested in diving as I was a newbie trying out my hand at it. I did the Scuba Diver Certification with them.Initially I was extremely nervous but with time I loved the experience! The dive instructors are extremely helpful and nice. I was with Tanuj Sharma and he was very patient, calm and interested in ensuring we enjoy diving and learn. All credits to him to make me appreciate diving and make this a truly life changing experience!
I would love to come back again and probably stay here as well.
Also- They can improve the washrooms to make the place more hygienic though!

Side Note: The cafe inside-Full Moon cafe is decent but over priced like most of the places around.

Our family went diving with Dive India over 3 to 4 days. Four of us needed to do a refresher and one of us went straight into his dives.

The best part of our experience was our Instructor, Abedhya. His knowledge, enthusiasm for the job at hand, way of explaining nuances and help in the actual dive was so very refreshing! He really made our dives a lot of fun and interesting, one can easily make out that he really enjoys what he does.

The other staff are also very friendly and helpful.
